Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How long is your show?

A: Shows vary from 15 to 45 minutes. Restaurant/nightclubs range from 1 to 5 shows per gig with an interval of 15 to 30 minutes between shows. It can be tailored to your preferences.

Q: Do you require a deposit?

A: Yes, 50% non-refundable deposit is due at booking time to secure a date and time. Balance is due (in cash or by PayPal) right after the performance.

Q: Is tipping allowed?

A: Sure, tips are appreciated. The appropriate way of tipping is throwing them over the dancer's head or tucking tips into the sides of the dancer's belt. Or tips can simply be included in the balance. Not allowed is putting tips into the dancers bra or front/back of the belt. Tips on the floor are usually picked up by a staff member and given to the dancer after the show.

Q: Are your shows appropriate for children?

A: All of our shows are family friendly and appropriate for any age - from 1 to 100! We do not perform at bachelor or male-only parties or venues.

Q: Will you bring music?

A: The belly dancer provides music on USB thumb drive or phone/tablet and the venue should provide the sound system (louder is better) and connection cord. Usually, the dancer will stay out of sight until the music has begun playing.

Q: How far in advance should I make the booking?

A: It is always better to book the show sooner than later. We recommend booking a minimum of two months in advance. If you are flexible with the time that the show begins, last minute shows can often be worked in. However, Friday and Saturday nights during the holidays and during wedding season (May - September) tend to book out much further in advance.

Q: Do you do any sort of audience participation?

A: Audience participation is not just fun, it’s totally authentic! We frequently pull guests up to dance throughout the performance and encourage the whole crowd to become part of the show, just like belly dancers do at weddings in the Middle East. Because every audience has a different energy, we “read the room” and tailor the level of interactivity to the crowd’s, whether it’s a bachelorette party where everybody’s getting silly or a corporate function where the group is a bit reserved.

Q: Can your performance be a surprise?

A: Sure! In fact, when you hire us for a belly gram, we usually assume that at least one person at the event will be surprised by the belly dancer. We are happy to work with you to customize the details of the surprise.
